Meredith Corp. , the magazine publisher which brands include "People," "Better Homes & Gardens" and "Allrecipes," said Monday it was suspending the payment of its dividend as a result of the uncertainties surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, about 2 1/2 months after it announced a dividend hike. The company also said it was cutting salaries of its executives and exempt employees and making "significant" reductions in capital expenditures.

在這一切發生前，MDP 其實還很有信心，在2/3號的時候，宣佈調高股息，調整了2%，在當時的殖利率高達7.63%，而S&P500 的平均殖利率不過是1.85%。

MDP 財報分析

這篇重點不在於完整的分析財報，而是讓大家注意到 payout ratio 對分析股息成長股的重要。 MDP 算是體質不差，沒有什麼ref flag，當然亮點也不是特別多，除了股息持續成長與高股息。 這種情況，短時間可能沒什麼問題，但遇到這種大環境，就會先砍股息。 2018 的 EPS 是1.48，但是 DPS 是2.13。2019是 -0.71，但DPS持續提高，來到2.24。這種超過70% 的payout ratio, 是很危險的。不要貪股息而忽略了股息安全性。 Disclaimer: 沒有持有MDP。
